Unesco Chairs Conference, In Geneva, Switzerland
University of Geneva - 5 to 7 July 2017
The UNITWIN/UNESCO Chairs Programme celebrates this year its 25th anniversary. The success of this initiative is impressive and we count today more than 700 Chairs worldwide, with more than 170 in Natural Sciences.
This network is unique and has displayed over the years its potential for its members and for UNESCO. Today, more than ever, the international community needs more science, better, interconnected, crosscutting science to respond adequately to the challenges of our time. Therefore, our network has an important role to play in the common effort to achieve the Sustainable development goals.
In this context, and for the first time, UNESCO Chairs in Natural Sciences (Sc-Chairs) will gather in Geneva to build synergy and cooperation and to harness their expertise for the contribution to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
